was digging up my old com =) :

they who frolicked in the endless sky,
whose scales shimmered
and wings extended,
and naught could compare.

and magnificent they were,
glorious a sight to behold,
betrothen to the azure sky,
legends of old, centerpiece of folklore.

yet much as naught can be compared,
betrayal unleashed its rage,
and mercilessly took its toll
on these mighty warriors of the skies.

their magnificence daunted,
beauty disfigured by the flaw of their hearts,
which once burned with fiery and flame,
now no more than a kindle.

the fall greater than ascension,
battered wings silent on the ground
never to take off again,
and tongues of fire extinguished with sands of time.

history fleeing with the wind,
sent pummeling into impaired memories,
and by the time we came around,
dragons were in a lifetime long past.

a faded memory in an obsolete mind,
a craving for a better time,
the forgotten fairytale,
a lifetime buried away with time.

tales of these aerial warriors by old folks retold,
came about a mysterious find that shone like gold.
wings lifted, dreams revived,
no longer was it, Once upon a time..
